Creative ideas for your Wedding

Your Wedding Day is a day that you, your families, friends and guests will remember for their whole lives. Obviously there are bigger parts to get finalised when planning your wedding, but there are also the smaller details that couples often think about too – and often, the latter are the ones that can really heighten yours and your guests’ experience. Personalising those little details is one of the things that can make your day more memorable for years to come.

We’ve all seen the common culprits, the over-used ones and the classic ones you can’t do without. But what if you’re looking to be a little bit more outside of the box? Here are some creative additions that you can consider to take your Wedding to that next level for both of you and everyone present.

Disposable Cameras

One that is getting more popular! Putting disposable cameras on dining tables or in a basket for your Wedding Guests to use, so they can capture their own photos for you as they experience your wedding. A great little addition as you get to see your wedding through the perspective of many of your guests, and you get film photos or polaroids as a result which is always a nice touch.

Morning after kits

Weddings are long days for everyone, and a small TLC gift for the day after is a cute way to remain in the minds of your guests in the next morning. You can put whatever you like in these small bags – a thank you for coming message, a coffee sachet, a small treat to go with breakfast, and perhaps even something to help them with any hangovers they might have!

Flip flops

One that will not go a miss by many of your guests! A bucket of unisex flip flops for when everyone’s feet gets that little too tired towards the end of the day. Great way to keep people on the dancefloor and preventing your guests from the excuse of “my feet hurt” to head home before the party is done!

Wedding Artists

Artists that produce creations during your wedding. It could be a watercolour artist that makes beautiful coloured representations of your key wedding moments for you to keep. It could be a caricature artist that draws comedic sketches of your guests as a keep sake for them - this one will definitely set the giggles off! Creative pieces of art can be a nice way to take the memories of your wedding with you after it’s done.

Wall of messages

Instead of the traditional wedding messages book, why not try a message wall? You can really play around and have fun with this one. String walls see guests writing messages on small paper notes and pinning them up with small wooden pegs. Perspex walls can have your guests writing messages on small blocks of wood and slotting them into a thin Perspex wall for everyone to read. You could even go really adventurous and have a darts wall, where your guests write messages on small cards, attach them to a dart and throws it to your dart wall of messages. As you can see, lots of ways to play around with the traditional wedding messages from guests in the form of fun and exciting walls!

Handmade Centrepieces

One that is great on creativity and very kind on the wallet aswell. Making handmade centrepieces for your table is a fantastic way to get crafty before the wedding, something you can get the rest of the family involved in too! Why not try spray painting a wine bottle and putting synthetic flowers in the top. Or perhaps an empty glass vase or jar and filling it with fairy lights? Pintrest is your friend with this one, a great place to get ideas!

Printed napkins

Everyone's sat down for their meals, and it’s probably the time where you’re guests will have the most distance from you – so why not make your presence felt with message table napkins. You could print funny anecdotes about you and your partner on them to make people chuckle over dinner. You could print unusual facts about both of you and encourage your guests to guess which fact belongs to who. Or you could print a series of thank you messages and continuing to spread the love while their tucking in.

Unconventional entertainment

We all love a singer and a live band, but if you wanna get creative, this is a really fun one to play with. Everything from comedians and impressionists, to magicians and impossible acts – there’s lots of possibilities for adding a unique touch to any entertainment you’re considering having.

Funny seating chart

You’ve done so much planning for your wedding, why not make your guests do a little bit of work! Seating charts with riddles for guests to work out where their sitting. Or maybe nicknames only you and your partner call each of your guests – a nice personalised touch that will bring a few smiles. Who said seating charts couldn’t be spiced up?!

Generation timelines

We all know wedding photos get passed on through generations. If you’re lucky enough to still have some copies, a timeline of your families weddings through photos up until yours is an amazing way to put them to use within your wedding. Show everyone how it all began and the marriages that happened to make your big day possible.
